Disclaimer

Last updated: 23 August 2026

Paperwall is the payment and unlock layer. The articles you unlock are written by independent publishers, and what they say is theirs rather than ours.

1. We don't write the content

Articles sold through Paperwall are created and published by independent publishers. We do not write, commission, review, fact-check or endorse them. Their accuracy, quality, legality and opinions are the publisher's responsibility.

Take a wrong, misleading or offensive article up with the publisher first. Tell us at legal@paperwall.io if you think it breaks the Acceptable Use Policy.

2. Not professional advice

Nothing on Paperwall, and nothing in an article you unlock through it, is professional advice. That includes legal, financial, investment, tax and medical advice. Consult a qualified professional before acting on anything you read.

3. Service availability

Paperwall is provided as is and as available. We do not promise uninterrupted or error-free service. Technical failures can affect article access, unlocks, refunds and transaction timing, whether they originate with us, a publisher, a hosting provider, Ghost, or a payment processor.

An unlock does not guarantee that an article stays online. Publishers control their own sites and can edit, unpublish or remove content at any time.

4. Third parties

Paperwall relies on third-party services, including payment processors, hosting providers and, for many publishers, Ghost. Paperwall is an independent service, not affiliated with, endorsed by, or operated by Ghost. We are not responsible for third-party services, their availability, or their terms.

Links from Paperwall, or from an article, to other sites do not mean we endorse them. What sits on the other side is their responsibility.

5. Publisher sites

Publishers are responsible for their own sites, content, configuration, pricing and legal compliance. We do not control how a publisher runs their site, or what they do with the reader information they receive.

6. Limits on liability

This disclaimer works alongside the disclaimers and liability limits in the Terms of Service, which set out the full position. Nothing here limits liability that cannot be limited by law, including liability for fraud and your non-excludable consumer rights.
